The Beginning
The beginning of an adventure to the Acadian region of Canada... to experience the music of the Acadian folk tradition.
Some people travel to places and take pictures to bring back with them as memories of their experience. I'm packing my recording gear in the trunk of my car, and along with my friend Mark, plan to seek out informal gatherings of Acadian musicians... at family reunions, picnics, parties, festivals, and record what I find to CD.
I don't have a set agenda of what I hope to hear, except that I would like to experience the heritage of the Acadian people as it has been forged over the past four centuries.
If all goes according to plan, I hope to be able to post sound clips of what I hear and record, as I travel throughout New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
